Description
The Blackmer CRL Series 2 inch to 4 inch sliding vane pumps are ductile iron, positive displacement pumps built for the bulk transfer and recirculation of liquefied carbon dioxide. They are part of Blackmer's Cavitation Line, and their cavitation suppression liners cut the noise, vibration and wear that entrained vapors normally cause in a liquid CO2 system. Typical duty includes industrial and food processing systems, refrigeration plants, process plants, vapor recovery and transport loading and unloading.
All three models use a double-ended keyed drive shaft, so the pump can be positioned for either clockwise or counterclockwise rotation without a special build. Every pump ships with an integral adjustable relief valve, a replaceable casing liner and replaceable end discs, so the pumping chamber can be rebuilt to like-new condition rather than replaced. Silicon carbide mechanical seals isolate the external ball bearings from the pumpage, and the vanes can be changed without taking the pump out of the piping.

NPT flanges are ductile iron to ASTM A536. Weld flanges are steel to ASTM A216 WCB, except the 2 inch and 3 inch weld flanges supplied on the CRL2 and CRL3, which are also available in ductile iron. Choose one of the cap screws and gaskets selections if you already have the flanges and only need the mounting hardware, or the less flanges selection if you need neither.
Shaft Rotation
Every CRL 2 inch to 4 inch pump is built with a double-ended keyed shaft as standard, which lets you drive it from either end and set it up for clockwise or counterclockwise rotation on site. The CRL2 is also offered with a single-end keyed shaft in a fixed hand, right hand (CW) or left hand (CCW), at no additional cost. Rotation is described looking at the pump from the driven side: right hand means the inlet is on the right, left hand means the inlet is on the left. The CRL3 and CRL4B are supplied with the double-ended shaft only.

Maintenance Kits
Maintenance kits carry the wear parts for a routine service. Rebuild kits add the parts needed to return the pumping chamber to like-new condition. CRL3-OE1 and CRL4B-OE1 are alternate build designations, so check the nameplate on your pump before ordering.
