Description

The Blackmer X1 Series is a line of 1 inch, ductile iron sliding vane pumps built for tight installation spaces where a compact, direct coupled pump is needed. Thermal shock resistant construction and external ball bearings isolated from the pumped fluid by mechanical seals give the X1 line long service life in general transfer duty. Two mounting styles are offered: the XB1 and XB1P models are base mounted for portable or pad installations, while the XF1 and XF1P models carry an integral bracket for direct mounting to a NEMA C-face motor. All models use 1 inch NPT tapped ports and an integral dual acting relief valve that returns excess flow to tank when return to tank piping is installed.

Choose Your Model

XB1C

The XB1C is a base mounted, long coupled pump rated for a nominal flow of 9 gpm (34 L/min). It ships at approximately 27 lb. Seal type is selectable above at no charge or a listed upgrade price; motor adaptor is fixed to foot mounted, less coupling.

XB1PC

The XB1PC is the higher capacity base mounted model, delivering 50 percent more flow than the standard XB1C at a nominal 14 gpm (53 L/min). It ships at approximately 30 lb. Seal type is selectable above at no charge or a listed upgrade price; motor adaptor is fixed to foot mounted, less coupling.

XF1C

The XF1C carries an integral bracket for direct mounting to a NEMA C-face motor and is rated for a nominal flow of 9 gpm (34 L/min). It ships at approximately 30 lb. Seal type and motor adaptor frame size are both selectable above.

XF1PC

The XF1PC is the higher capacity C-face mounted model, delivering 50 percent more flow than the standard XF1C at a nominal 14 gpm (53 L/min). It ships at approximately 33 lb. Seal type and motor adaptor frame size are both selectable above.

Configuration Options

Seal type and motor adaptor are selectable right on this page using the dropdowns above: motor adaptor choices are all no charge, and the seal upgrade shows its own price automatically. Rotation and relief valve spring range are not selectable online because of catalog system limits; every pump ships in Blackmer's standard configuration for those two (right-hand rotation, standard spring range) unless you call us at (262) 646-4500 with the code you need and we will quote and build the order for you.

Foot-mounted motor adaptors are not available on XF1C/XF1PC, and C-face motor adaptors are not available on XB1C/XB1PC.

Features and Benefits

X1 Series pumps are built for fast, quiet operation. The latest six vane design reduces noise levels compared with earlier vane counts, and every model uses 1 inch NPT tapped ports with acceptance of standard C-face mounted motors. An exclusive combination valve does double duty as a back-to-tank bypass valve and an internal safety relief valve, so a separate bypass valve is not required. External ball bearings are isolated from the pumped fluid by the mechanical seal, which maximizes bearing life and minimizes the risk of contamination, and symmetrical bearing support spreads the load evenly for extended service life. An adjustable relief valve protects the pump from excessive pressure. As with all Blackmer sliding vane pumps, the vanes self-adjust for wear so flow rates hold steady over the life of the pump, the design offers strong self-priming and dry-run capability, and the vanes can be replaced without removing the pump from the piping system, which keeps maintenance simple and life-cycle costs low.

Applications

X1 Series pumps are used to transfer and dispense solvents, light oils, ethanol and other alcohols, flammable liquids, and a variety of other light, non-corrosive, non-abrasive fluids.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the main advantages of choosing an X1 Series Sliding Vane Pump for fluid transfer?
The X1 Series Sliding Vane Pumps are designed for fast, quiet operation with long service life, thanks to features like a six vane design, external ball bearings isolated from pumped fluid, and self-adjusting vanes for consistent flow. These pumps are ideal for transferring light, non-corrosive, and non-abrasive fluids such as solvents, light oils, and alcohols. They also offer a compact design suitable for tight installation spaces, making them versatile for various industrial fluid transfer needs.
How do I select the right model and configuration options for my specific application of the X1 Series Sliding Vane Pumps?
Choosing the right model involves considering flow capacity, mounting style, and configuration options like seal type and motor adaptor. For instance, the XB1C and XF1C models provide 9 gpm flow, while the higher capacity XB1PC and XF1PC deliver 14 gpm. You should also select appropriate seal types, rotation directions, and relief valve settings based on your application details, which can be customized during purchase. Consulting the product datasheets and contacting support can help ensure the optimal configuration.
What type of maintenance is required for the X1 Series Sliding Vane Pumps, and are rebuild kits available?
Maintenance for the X1 Series Sliding Vane Pumps is straightforward; replacement vanes can be serviced without removing the pump from piping, and rebuild kits are available for each model, such as the 898995 Maintenance Kit for 6 vanes. Regular inspection of mechanical seals, relief valves, and bearings is recommended to maintain performance. For specific maintenance needs or parts not listed, customer support can assist with serial number-based part lookup to keep your pump operating efficiently.
