Description

The ML Series is Blackmer's Heavy Duty ductile-iron sliding vane pump line, built for sustained performance across everything from thin non-lubricating solvents to highly viscous liquids and abrasive slurries. A removable hub gives quick access to the bearing and sealing areas for routine inspection without pulling the entire pump head, and the pump can be configured with the right combination of bearing, seal, and vane material for chemicals, petroleum, paint and coatings, pulp and paper, and food-processing service.

Two Engineered Platforms in One Series

ML Series pumps are available in two bearing and sealing configurations to match your application. MLX and MLXW models use internal mechanical seals with external grease-lubricated ball bearings, isolated from the pumped liquid to maximize bearing life, and can be fitted with a wide selection of Blackmer mechanical seals. MLN models use internal self-lubricating carbon sleeve bearings with PTFE-impregnated shaft packing and an external stuffing box that accepts most standard aftermarket mechanical seal configurations. MLXW is the extra-clearance, hardened-liner version of MLX for more abrasive service.

  • Modular bearing hub assemblies allow these pumps to be easily reconfigured in the field
  • Optional wear-hardened parts available for abrasive applications
  • Jacketed pump head option for high-temperature operation
  • Ductile-iron construction with bolt-on internal relief valve available
  • Symmetrical bearing support assures even loading and wear for long life
  • Adjustable relief valve protects the pump against excessive pressures
  • Sliding-vane design self-adjusts for wear to maintain flow rates, with excellent self-priming and dry-run capability
  • Easy maintenance: vanes can be replaced without removing the pump from the piping system
  • Fully integrated unit assemblies (motor, gearbox, baseplate, couplings, and guards) available as a pre-engineered drop-in package, see Unit Assemblies below
